Founded
PharmaPlus established as a buying group to support independent pharmacy owners across the UK.
Support Group
PharmaPlus expanded its buying group offering to focus on becoming a Pharmacy Support Group to help act as a head office support team for independent contractors.
PharmaPlus Academy
PharmaPlus Academy online learning platform launched for CPD and staff training.
Supplier Network
Expanded supplier network to over 50 vetted partners with exclusive pricing and a focus on private and clinical services.
Dataplast — Drug Price Comparison Cascade
PharmaPlus’ bespoke version of Dataplast, the drug price comparison cascade, launched.
Digital Transformation
Launched new digital tools including brand new digital SOPs and compliance dashboards.
The People Behind PharmaPlus
PharmaPlus staff are mainly made up of pharmacists, pharmacy professionals and consultants with different areas of expertise, to help develop a professional team that can help, advise and consult our members on all areas of running their pharmacy — be it clinical services, business services, commercial & marketing services, training of pharmacists & staff (via PharmaPlus Academy), regulatory issues, website & social media, help with commissioning NHS or private services, rebates as well as central invoicing and accounts. The team has it all covered.
Hiten Patel
Managing Director
Hiten is the Managing Director of PharmaPlus. He is also on the NPA Board of Directors and represents its members in the North West London area. He has been a pharmacist for over 40 years and has a substantial amount of experience in community pharmacy. He is a director of a pharmacy in West Ealing, is Chairman of Ealing, Hammersmith & Hounslow LPC and also Chairman of the Middlesex group of LPCs (representing over 550 contractors). He was a founding Board member of Pharmacy Voice. He is also a member of the European Pharmacy Forum (EPF). Hiten believes in closer co-operation and integrated working practices across all sectors and professions. He is also a Trustee Chair of a local charity, The Lido Centre.
In recent years under his leadership PharmaPlus has seen several major changes in developing a clinical services model and framework to further support its members.
Varinder Panesar
Finance Manager
Varinder has been PharmaPlus’ Finance Manager for over 20 years and has a substantial amount of experience in community pharmacy finances.
He has played an active role in developing PharmaPlus’ finance strategies with centralised invoicing schemes and a credit control reward system for members, making the whole finance process seamless.
He is the main point of contact for pricing, supplier deals and rebates.
Dipen Shah
Professional Services (Clinical)
Dipen is a pharmacist with over 25 years of experience in various settings including community pharmacy, commissioning, various primary care settings and training.
He is actively involved part time with PharmaPlus and devotes the rest of his working week to various clinical, surgery and teaching roles. He provides expert support on clinical matters, is a practising independent prescriber and helps develop innovative services for community pharmacy.
Ishan Tripathi
Head of Commercial and Marketing
Ishan is the marketing manager for PharmaPlus with over 20 years of experience in the pharma industry in various disciplines including advertising, media and consulting. He is responsible for all commercial and operational activities at PharmaPlus. Along with implementing strategic and marketing plans to promote PharmaPlus and its key suppliers, he also provides support to members for promoting their own pharmacies.
